Since the start of 2020 JEWL engaged in COVID19 relief work through the supply of food items to the families who lost their livelihoods due to lockdown.
We have started various new initiatives as part of our Covid -19 Relief work. We have provided a two months ration kit containing rice, wheat, oil, pulses and salt for direct consumption to5000people from 1000 families. We have ensured that the minimum food requirement for these families is fulfilled during the crisis period.s
The main focus was on distribution of the kits within 24 hours to ensure that these families do not go hungry. We have also distributed lunch packets to 15,000 children who were on their way back home after school closure at various places in Chennai city.
In Addition to above JEWEL has taken up the responsibility to provide sanitizers, masks, soaps and other relief materials to the poor and needy people.We also educate them on the importance of wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and hand hygiene.
